Event has a ReMARKable reason for runners/walkers to participate

Most road races designate most of their proceeds to benefit a specific charity or cause, and the ReMARKable Run, Walk & Roll 5K on Jan. 23 was no different. This was the third year for the event that helps Mark Evans and his family. Mark was critically injured in a motorcycle accident in 2007, resulting in Mark begin paralyzed from the waist down. The father of four had considerable expenses not covered by insurance and proceeds have helped with some of those expenses. This year, the goal was to raise money to fund a path around his backyard and to the front of his home that he can navigate with his wheelchair. So, thanks to those who participated in the event at River Legacy Park in Arlington for helping Mark and his family.

Winning this year's ReMARKable Run, Walk & Roll male division was Jeff Arnier Jr., 18, of Arlington who blazed to a 15:08.9. Jennifer Johnson of Coppell took the female title with a 23:44.7. Winning the respective masters titles were Jesus Lopez, 43, of Dallas in 19:44.9 and Julie Kendro, 51, of Fort Worth in 24:21.1.
